Adding an island that seats four requires a minimum overall island length of around 84" (allowing 21" per seated person plus 18" of countertop work area on the other side). Stool seating needs 10–12" of counter overhang on the seating side, supported by corbels or steel brackets — particleboard alone won't carry the load over time.
Electrical for the island includes outlets per NEC (a receptacle every 24" on counter sections over 12" deep), GFCI on the circuit, and typically a dedicated 20A circuit for the island alone. Plumbing for an island sink adds significant cost because the drain has to be routed through the slab on slab-on-grade homes.

Counter overhang reinforcement. 10–12" overhangs need steel brackets or full-thickness countertop supports.
Receptacle placement on the back side. NEC requires receptacles facing the cooking side, not just the seating side.
Traffic clearance. 42" minimum on cooking side, 36" on seating side — measure against existing kitchen.
