Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL)

Florida DEP-administered line east of which construction requires additional permitting and engineering for coastal storm exposure.

Definition

What coastal construction control line (cccl) actually means.

The Coastal Construction Control Line is established by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Properties seaward of the CCCL require a CCCL permit from DEP in addition to county building permits, with engineering specific to wind, wave, and storm-surge loads. East-of-A1A properties in Ponte Vedra Beach and east-of-US-1 in St. Augustine commonly cross the CCCL.
